Re: Need help with Capt. Jacob C. Bennett

Pat
I have accumulated a lot of stuff on Bennett. Send address and I will sent copies of his service records and newspaper articles along with article I wrote for local newspaper.

I have commissioned an artist who is working on pen and ink drawing of Bennett and his brothers-in-law, the Dales. All served in the Confederacy with William Jackson Dale killed at Chickamauga. A.L. Dale rode with Bennett on some of his most memorable raids.

We have several infamous guerillas who were based in this are, besides Bennett there were Oliver P. Hamilton, Champ Ferguson, Gentry and Jones. Bennett did not have over 17 to 20 men who rode with him but he often joined forces with others to ride into Kentucky.

The drawings will be used a fundraiser to put a nice stone marker on Bennett and Dales graves.
