William B. Higginbotham, Field's Partisan Rangers

I am searching for more information on my great grandfather Private William B. Higginbotham of Field's Company, Kentucky Partisan Rangers. I know that he probably didn't live through the war since he isn't listed on a census record after 1860. He enlisted with his cousin Charles Higginbotham who later deserted. He was born in either Kentucky or Virginia in about 1830. He lists his occupation as farmer in the 1850 Federal Census. He may have lived in Missouri and Illinois before the war. I have not been able to locate his grave site or cause of death. He doesn't show up in any Confederate POW Records as far as I know. Here is what I found on the Civil War Research Database:

William B. Higginbotham

Residence was not listed;
Enlisted on 9/24/1862 at Morgan County, KY as a Private.

On 9/24/1862 he mustered into "Field's" Co. KY Field P Rangers Cavalry
(date and method of discharge not given)

Charles Higginbotham

Residence was not listed;
Enlisted on 9/13/1862 at Morgan County, KY as a Private.

On 9/13/1862 he mustered into "Field's" Co. KY Field P Rangers Cavalry
He deserted on 10/30/1862

Charles was also known by his middle name William or as Charles W. Higginbotham

I haven't been able to find much on William, his cousin Charles, or on Captain Field's Company as a whole. Anything that anyone might know would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.- Jacob M. Lake
