I don't know much about Witcher beyond what has been written by Scott Cole in his history of the 34th VA Cav Btln and Jack Dickinson in his history of the war in Wayne County, WV. I'm presently researching a list of 15 names, composed by General John B. Floyd, CSA, of men who were supposedly murdered and/or robbed, etc., by Witcher during the early part of the war. For such a colorful man, he didn't leave much of a paper trail.
