Guerrilla is such an ugly term. I too have an ancestor - Richard Samuel Kimberlin - and his brothers rode with Quantrill until they were old enough to join the regular CSA army. All of those who rode with Quantrill had a horror story that happened to their family that caused them to join him. In our case the brothers were made to watch as Jennison and his Jay hawkers attack their Missouri home, hung the father, looted and burned their home and then later stole all the hay in the barn and burned it down as well. If you happen to have any information on Richard (uncle Sam) or his brothers Felix and Julian, I sure would appreciate having it.
