Hi,
My name is Jim Carpenter and I just found out my Great, Great Grandfather was in the Civil War.

His names is Jilson Lewis Day
He was a Private in the Confederate Army.
10th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Johnson’s)
DOB: May 25, 1836
POB: Morgan Co. KY
DOD: March 7, 1918
POD: Boone Co, KY

I have requested his service records from the NARA and am awaiting their reply.
I would really appreciate any information anyone would have on my Gr. Gr. Grandfather and his unit. We are having a Day reunion in July and I would love to be able to have a report for my relatives.
