I am looking for any information about J.M. Book in the Civil War. The only thing I have found for him was at Ancestry.com. They have their source info as The National Archives, The Selected Records of the War Department Relating to Confederate Prisoners of War, 1861-1865. He is listed as a prisoner of war at Camp Chase, states he was a private in the 1st Kentucky Cavalry, Company D, captured at Louisa, Kentucky July 20, 1862, transferred to Rock Island June 14, 1864. When I contacted the National Archives, they could not find anything for him, and the Kentucky Library and Archives also said they can't find anything for him. I can't even find any information about the 1st Kentucky Cavalry, Co. D. Do you know where I might find information about the records for Camp Chase or Rock Island and the 1st Ky. Cav., Co. D?
