I am reseraching and writing a book on the operations of Morgan's cavalry in 1862. I would appreciate information stating the strength of the 1st Kentucky Cavalry, U.S., at the time of the action at Lebanon, Tennessee on 5 May 1862. Please cite source.

Also, apart from the Official Records and Tarrant's "The Wild Riders of the First Kentucky Cavalry",any information on this regiment's role in the battle at Lebanon would be appreciated - letters, newspapers, etc.. I have never seen or heard of an official report on the battle by Colonel Smith.
