anthony, my name is robert conley, i grew up on jennys creek ky. i was there 7-2-2011 , i went to the family cemetery to clean up the site and to my surprise i found two new headstones. that left me wondering about the history and story of the two young men, Thomas Layton and Thomas Hall. this is the welch cemetery and it is the burial site of my mother,father,welch grandparents and other welch relatives. this farm was in the family for generations, in the thirties and forties this farm surported three families,which have since scattered like the wind. my siblings and i have fought in four wars and were lucky enough to survive,unlike these two young men.there is no objection to these headstones , but to my knowledge no one in the family has any facts or fiction about this battle and we would like to know. We would appreciate any information regarding the battle on the Welch farm. Thank you. Bob
