The book (semi fictional) is titled 'Trail of the Lonesome Pine. It has been out of print for some time & the names used are fictitious. There is also a book titled 'The Wright - Jones Feud", it is avaiaable online. I can't remember the author's name. If you go online and google 'devil john wright' you will find many websites. Since I wrote that email in 2007 I have found out that john was interviewed for a newspaper article & he states that he fought for the confederacy for the entire war. I have his war record which gives creedance to his statement that he served the entire war with rebels. He served with the 10th kentucky mounted infantry which at the end of the war became the 13th kentucky cavalry. There is an excellent book on this unit entitled 'Appalachian Rebels" by Richard Brown & David Chaltas. It is excellent. There are a couple of quotes attributed to devil john, one involving the death of his brother solomon at pound gap. solomon was a leutenant in the same company. hope this helps. M
