Looking for any information on the above soldier's name/ancestry. Need to know if he could be Abner Field VANCE, of Hickman Co. KY.
I really don't think so, because Pvt. A.F. is bur. in Mount City National Cem., Pulaski Co. Ill. and I think his family was of southern sentiment?
I assume he was a casualty in war. Veteran's burial record shows no company, just his rank, Reg. and State, and that he was bur. Feb. 1, 1864.
