Re: Abner Field Vance, University of Louisville

Winnie --

The 1850 of Jefferson County KY lists Abner F Vance, age 19 and born in KY, household of Wm Vance, a merchant. A family tree lists him as the son of William R and Eleanor Field Vance. Abner F Vance also signed the census of 1850 for Jefferson County as associate marshal. In 1851 his name appears on a list of graduates of the University of Louisville.

Nothing after that.

One of his classmates in 1851 was John Alexander Logan, who became a U S major-general, serving under Generals Grant and Sherman.

Aside from speculation about his politicial sympathies, are there any other facts for this man?
