Records for these men are confused due to the various unit designation changes. I believe they all served in Caudill's regiment.

I did not run into this term "disposition unaccounted for" Have no idea how to interpret.

Note, of the four POW cards in his file, three record him as with the 10th Kentucky Infantry vice Cavalry

William Ingle, Private, Capt. Anderson Hays' Company of Kentucky Infantry,* enlisted October 1, 1862 at Whitesburg by Col. Caudill for 3 years, recorded on the companies April 30-August 31, 1863 muster roll as, absent, deserter, captured July 7, 1863 at Gladesville, Wise County, Va., confined Kemper Barracks, Cincinnati, Ohio July 18, subsequently sent to Camp Chase, Ohio next day, arriving July 2o, transferred to Camp Douglas August 24, applied for oath of allegiance, "claims to have been loyal, was conscripted & desired to take the oath of allegiance to the U. S. & become a loyal citizen,"paroled and transferred for exchange to Pt. Lookout, Md. prison February 24, 1865, no further records

* This company subsequently became Company C, 13th Regiment Kentucky Cavalry.

The regiment was known at various times as Caudill's Regiment Kentucky Infantry, 10th Regiment Kentucky Infantry, 10th Regiment Kentucky Mounted Riflemen, and 11th Regiment Kentucky Mo Regiment Mounted Infantry. The 11th Regiment Kentucky Mounted Infantry became the 13th Regiment Kentucky Cavalry February 22, 1865.

Col. Caudill and 126 of his men were forced to surrender in a short sharp fight at Gladesville on July 7.

Originally the 10th Kentucky Mounted Infantry, it later became the 13th Kentucky Cavalry, C.S.A. His writings were originally transcribed by Troy Back.
