I would like to add my endorsement along with yours for Arthur W. Bergeron's "Guide to Louisiana Confederate Military Units 1861-1865". I don't normally encourage people to run out and buy books, especially when they are available at many libraries and occasionally online.

However, I feel that no Civil War researcher's personal library is complete without Bergeron's "Guide". It has been of tremendous use to me in my research, especially when trying to track soldiers through the sometimes Byzantine reorganizations and redesignations of Louisiana regiments. I only wish such a book was available for other Confederate states.
