Pelican Rifles, 3rd Louisiana Inf.

The "SUGAR PLANTER [WEST BATON ROUGE, LA], March 23, 1861, p. 2, c. 1" reported the Pelican Rifles (later Co K, 3rd Louisiana Infantry) as wearing "uniforms of dark green which they have just adopted".

The reports of the 3rd Louisiana Infantry at Wilson's Creek seem to indicate that they wore gray uniforms.

Has anyone come across any reference to when they received those gray uniforms?

Given that they left Baton Rouge on May 4, 1861 did they leave in gray uniforms or were the uniforms shiped to them at Fort Smith, Arkansas?

Any information on the uniform or equipment of this or any other company of the 3rd would be most welcome.
