Jamie, I got my information at http://www.rootsweb.com/~mslamar/WPA/lamar/civilwar.html#interviews.

"GABRIEL FRANCIS BLACKBURN was a soldier in the Confederate War. He entered the war from Marion County, Columbia, Miss. He was in the 14th Louisiana Regiment, Co. F. Captain Mills and Colonel Cage were the officers. He entered the War Nov. 6, 1863."

Also in notes that Ron sent he references to the J. F. Foxworthy diary page 137. This is two references that he may have left the 7th Miss. for another unit. I just need verification of his service other than the 7th Miss. for our gravesite project.

BTW if he did serve in the 14th La. a reseracher of that unit may have an interest in his interview.
