Oscar J. Dunn

I searching for evidence that Oscar James Dunn served in the Union Army -Negro troops (1st, 2nd, or 3rd Regiments) in New Orleans. I have not been able to find evidence that supports a story he presented to a Congressional Committee. He claims to have entered service in 1862 as a private and exited in 1863 as a Capt. I have searched the NPS site and have not found his name and wondering if there were any other negro troops with a similar service record?
