Wounded 8th LA Inf ancestor

Greetings gentlemen, I was hoping that y'all might be able to help me solve a long unsolved family mystery. it involves my GGG Grandfather, James A. Carroll, a PVT from Franklin parish that served in the 8th LA, Co E. We know through oral family history that he was wounded at some point during the war, but don't know when or at what battle. We also beleive he was present at the unti's surrender at Appomatox. If you could help shed light on this question for me (if you have access to the records that would answer it) I would greatly appreciate it, as would my family. Thank you...
