Attn Mr. Hudson. You might be interested in this odd coincidence and I also have a question. My husband's g.grandfather James Etherington Trimble died by gunshot during an altercation in "Stein's store" in Farmerville. In a somewhat earlier period, my g.g.grandfather - John Stewart McDonald - also died by gunshot at J. M. Devine's drug store in San Antonio, Texas, in 1856. McDonald was a staunch Unionist who became embroiled in the nightmarish political chaos that preceded the Civil War. He was a former Mayor and current District Clerk and was killed by the sitting Mayor, J. M. Devine. McDonald carried no weapon. Question: Do you know where Dr. Ramsey was originally from?
