I guess that I pursued the wrong man in P.W.Paul.I thought
he was the ancestor that I was looking for in my research. Family history states that Phillip Paul deserted from the CSA and Joined the Union Army. We have his picture dressed in the Union uniform. I was unable to find a Phillip Paul in Andrew Booth's record of Louisiana soldiers so I thought the P. W. Paul listed was Phillip.If you find any records on him, let me know.
