Re: louisiana confederate calvary

Hi
My gggrandfather Washington Lafayette Kimball b LA d Tx was in the West Mississippi Department under Capt Peak/Peck Company Harrisons Regiment a cavalary unit out of La somewhere

This was info on his wifes indigent family papers from McLennan co Tx He drew a pension also and it was # 24657 McLennan Co Tx Form B "For Use of Widows of Soldiers who are in Indigent Circumstances"

Can you tell me if this might be the unit I am looking for because at the Soldiers and Sailors website they do not list him in this unit. By the way he married a Mattie Martha Sims in La in May 1873 (she states Paris Co La but cannot find this co listed anywhere)

Can you also tell me how to get a copy of that pension record for him. Her pension # was 32738

but I was sent these papers for her and don't know how to retrieve military or gov records.

Thanks Debra
