Re: Thomas J. Pittman , 9th La.

Booth's "Record" - Thomas J. PITMAN (spelled with one "T" in my 1920 print copy) enrolled in Confederate service at Camp Moore on July 7, 1861. No mention of his wounding at Fredricksburg or anywhere else in Booth. He was paroled on April 10, 1865 at Appomattox Court House, age 21 years, and a resident of Bienville Parish. Same personal description as Thomas Cardwell posted above.

Bergeron's "Guide" states that Company C, 9th Louisiana Infantry was recruited primarily from communities in Bienville Parish.

You should be able to find him and his place of birth listed in the 1860 Federal Census for Bienville Parish. Check your local library for a copy of Ancestry/Plus or Ancestry.com
