Shieldsboro is now known as Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. I believe many of the Mississippi companies from that area were organized and camped at Gainesville which is on the Mississippi side of the Pearl River. The former town of Gainesville was taken in by the Stennis Space Center and the visitor's center there has a few good maps of the area.
