LYONS, RAPHAEL R.

Note: We now his first name is Raphael and the name of his wife, Olive Merrill(Williams) Lyons. According to this information he has 18 pages in his pension files. That tells me he had some difficulty getting his pension. I highly suggest ordering these pensions applications and his service records (see offer at top of this page). The pension application should give you details regarding both his service and personal information such as date of birth, date of death, personal worth, any wounds recieved etc.

I did not find him in the Louisiana Confederate Soldiers Burial Database that is maintained by the Louisiana Division Sons of Confederate Veterans. If you locate his grave please let us know where it is so we can add his information.

The National Park Service's Civil War Soldiers & Sailors System list several men named Lyons who served in the regiment. It is a good bet they are kin. You would need to run this down through census records etc. Also, be advised that this roster, located online, is prone to error in the form of duplicate entries for the same soldier. I am posting their list as is...
