I found my ancestor who served with Company E, Consolidated 18th Louisiana Infantry and Yellow Jacket Battalion on the March 1865 roster for that unit, at the library at Tulane where the originals are kept. Apparently this muster roll was never copied by the War Department, which is what most of Booth's Records is based upon. I went through through that muster roll and looked up each man in Booth's, and found about a dozen men on that original muster roll who were not listed. Apparently there were a lot of men who enlisted in the last year of the war whose records were left out of the U.S. War Department's copy that were later used by the states to confirm service for pension applications.
