Unfortunately there is no book, other than Booth, and I have given you all of the information found there.

You can try to find his grave through the SCV and get his obituary from the local paper in that area. Often there is a lot of information to be found in obituaries.

You can see if he or his widow applied for a pension and get a copy of the application.

Your best place to start my well be your local library. In Shreveport we have a very fine genealogy department with very helpful librarians. Libraries usually have census records, CDs of statewide marriage records, etc. that can be very useful.

Finding the information can take a lot of work, but it can be an exciting and rewarding experience.
