I tracked Rawle to Milton, Florida. He filed a pension application (Louisiana)in 1899. He apparently moved there for health reasons two years earlier and was completely incapacitated. He was also divorced. He lost his right eye while on Wheeler's staff in the Atlanta campaign, but soldiered on, ending the war at Ft. Delaware. The Santa Rosa County genealogical society, which has a very comprehensive cemetery index, has no record of his burial, so his ultimate fate is still a question mark. I'll keep looking . . .
