I'm wondering if anyone has knowledge of the 1st.La.Under Lt.Col.Farrar part of Loomis's/Dea's Brigade during the Battle of Stones River.I'm trying to verify that at least some Co.'s of the 1st.LA. gaurded prisoners at Murfreesboro,TN....Or a record of prisoners taken by 1st.La.Inf.Regulars between 7:00 and 8:00am Dec.31,1862.My GGGrandfather 1st.Lt.John F. Elliott 36IL.Inf.was on picket the early morning of the 31,when things got lively.Was wounded and taken prisonerI'm guessing by one of Loomis's AlA.Brigade 22ALA.,19ALA.1stLA.25ALA.,39ALA.,26ALA.were opposite 88IL.,4IND.Battery,36IL.24Wisc.with 15 MO.,21 Mich.,44IL. in reserve.I have reson to believe he was captured by 1st.LA.Thanks,Mike
