My mistake upon rereading the letter it states a high ranking officer in the Confederate service.The family being from New orleans I assumed it would be a LA. outfit.Whoever or what ever the regiment he visited his brother at Atlanta and supposedly saved his brothers life.I do appreciate your response.Sometimes ruling out is as good as ruling in.I'll keep looking,Thanks
