Based on the input from Miles and Terry, I stand corrected on John R. West! That's what I get for giving an answer "off the top of my head." Gregg Davies of Winnfield has probably done more research on the military records of the men named in the West Clan story than anybody I have corresponded with. But my offer to look up any particular names you are interested in stands.
