I agree with you that Ms. Dyas' ancestor may be one of these other "B" Allens listed in Booth's Record of Confederate Soldier... Hopefully, you can help her with this search, but I'd be interested to know what was the connection between the 3rd and 12th LA Infantry that you refer to?
