Re: John Dimitry of the Crescent Regiment

I just heard back from the researcher and it seems that the John Dimitry papers contain none of his own writings, the majority of them being family letters from James Hardeman Stuart and Oscar E. Stuart, distant cousins of J.E.B., one of which served on Stuart's staff.

She did say that they have a collection of Gen. Ruggles' papers and according to the catalogue there are two letters that may discuss the Crescent. She is pursuing that and other references.

Art, in your "Guide..." you reference two issues of the Confederate Veteran as footnotes for the Crescent. I haven't researched the Veteran yet. It seems a daunting task to search them all. Has anyone ever indexed all issues to make searching them practical?
