At long last, my book Fire in the Cane Field is out and available from State House Press, part of the Texas A&M University Press Consortium. It is the first of four books planned that discusses the war in Louisiana and Texas. Cane Field spans from Secession to February, 1863.

The next, Thunder across the Swamp, should be out next year. It picks up March to May, 1863 (Teche Campaign).

The third, Blood on the Bayou, will follow (Summer 1863-Early Spring 1864), as will Death at the Landing (Spring 1864-June 1865).
