There are only 2 cards in his 50 card file related to his arrest. There are no details or references to other documents. His pre-war occupation is listed on one card, however, I am unable to read it on-line. I would guess he spent the next 11 months in jail until released by the Federals.

Alfred William Moss, age 25, enlisted as a 4th Corporal in Company D, 15th Louisiana Infantry July 18, 1861 at New Orleans, reduced in ranks [most likely during the reorganization of the army, May 1862] wounded at Gaines Mill, June 27, 1862, admitted to hospital, furloughed, later admitted to General Hospital, Howard's Grove, Richmond, Virginia September 23, 1862 gun shot wound, returned to duty December 2, recorded as absent on detached service at the C. S. Clothing Depot, Richmond as a Tailor/Trimmer May 14, 1863, paid through May 27, 1864, arrested May 28, 1864 for stealing Gov. stores from Clothing Depot, sent to Va Penitentiary "Stealing Gov. Medicines , n.d., POW, paroled at Richmond, Virginia May 8, 1865
