Re: New Book: Stones River Vol II Army of Tennesse

Lanny, Lt. Col. Johns is my Paternal 2nd cousin, four times removed. My great-greatgrandmother was his cousin, Sarah Jane Johns. She was married to Pvt. Richard R. Chaddick of the 7th Mississippi and it was at Murfreesboro that he was wounded and selected for Confederate Medal of Honor, which I am sure you know is kept as the "Roll of Honor". I certainly look forward to seeing Col. Johns's report. The only other report of his I can recall offhand is his report from Atlanta after the fighting on July 22, 1864. During that time he was in field command of the 9th Mississippi. I also look forward to Col. White's report.

I try to budget my monthly "hobby" spending and finished it just last night but will be in touch with you soon. If you wish too see further information and a pic of Col. Johns and his gravesite in Gloster, Mississippi just visit our page on the 7th Mississippi. I'm sure the other 7th guys will be commenting soon.
