William P. Gore enlisted September 4, 1862 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was age 30 years at the time of his enlistment. He was born in Clinton, Louisiana. He was 5 feet 7 1/2 inches tall, with florid complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair. His occupation was a laborer.
