Re: Died at Picayune Cotton Press, New Orleans?

have a look in Kendall historian of new orleans. i found there information about several cotton print where worked henry hope stanley, the "adoptive" father of the explorer henry morton stanley. i known also that his cotton press was seiezd during the yankee occupation in civil war but was leberated as being property of a English citizen. It seems thus that such premises as cotton press were indeed used for military destination. i reminder me something about this Picayun press because its name from French as the Newspaper of same name but my archives are in my keller and i am a to old man (83) to go to look after. I will see if I find an help.
good luck in your rechearches
Jacques
