Don, I am sorry that your father-in-law passed away. Thank you for the history.

My gg-uncle was Pvt. Benjamin Franklin Teer and he joined the partisans in 1861 when he was 17 years old. The record indicates he served the duration of the War and was exchanged after capture at Henderson's Hill, but not until he recovered from "acute pneumonia". I have no photos of him, just his grave marker.

I asked Art Bergeron if someone had ever written a book on the 2nd LA Cavalry and he replied something like, 'No, but someone should. They had a very prolific history'. Good luck with your research.
