I am replying to your note on James H. Darling. In trying to research my Jeremiah Haden Darling, I followed a J.H. Darling in New Orleans to the point of gathering some newspaper articles of his post-war activities in New Orleans in a veterans group (he was a parade master and in some club) Also I think I may have your James H's obituary and will - is the surname Darien familiar to you? do you think he died in 1874? I can get a copy of all this to you later, still a little busy right now with holiday visitors and will get back to this after the new year.
