Veazey in the 8th La

Was at a reenactment this past weekend. A gentleman came up to the unit and inquired as to if we know of any Louisiana's at the event. Yes, we do the 8th LA.
He was looking for information on the Veazie family (his spelling). That is the current spelling of the name. He 'knew' relatives fought for Louisiana and one was supposed to have been wounded at Sharpsburg. He also noted his relative was named 'Robert.'

Looking at Booth's, I found that there were three 'Veazey's' and to me appear to be brothers. They were in Co C, 8th Louisiana. And they were in the ANV. None had a 'Robert' in his name.

I also checked the pension records, but did not find any additional Veazey's, though I did find a 'female' Veazey, that married another soldier in Co C, 8th La.

Question, does any one have any other information on this family name, as it relates to the CW era. I 'know' there are sometimes misspellings, but these names are too close to be a misspelling.

Got a feeling that the soldier that was shot (per Booth's - Wounded accidentally at Robertson River - Alfred) may have enhanced the wounding. Could not find a Robertson River, but did find a Robinson River, which is in Madison County, Virginia. This river is a tributary of the Rapidan. This county is located southwest of Culpepper, Va.
