Thank you Michael. My gggrandfather Lawrence M. Carpenter was in the 1st. Louisiana infantry, under Strawbridge. Thanks to help from the people on this board Iv seen his POW records. I also followed up on their hints and found lots of info on the terrible prison Ft.Douglas. On his roll call all about him were passing away. Since the Dix agreement fell apart, I just thought someone knew where they ended up after release or what the circumstances of release was. How did they get back home etc. Your word contain lots of keys for me. Thank you, Ann
