Would anyone know why Capt. Thomas H. Hutton, CO of Hutton's Artillery (Co. A, Crescent Arty.), was court-martialed at Alexandria on September 19, 1864? He was under arrest on March 4 of that year, and he was accused of cowardice on March 14 of that year, but I have been unable to find out if the court-martial was related to either of those incidents. And if anyone knows why he was under arrest on March 4, I'd like to know that, too.
Bunch's "Roster of the Courts-Martial in the Confederate States Armies" has no listing for Captain Hutton.
