The Battle of Lick Skillet road, better known as Battle of Ezra Church took place July 28, 1864 SW of downtown Atlanta (now part of city of Atlanta). My great uncle, Robert M. Cook, Sgt, Company F, 29th Miss. was mortally wounded in the battle and died August 30, 1864.
