It was late in the evening when I posted my first message &
I mistakenly listed James Drenning as being in Company C 31st Missouri Infantry.It was actually Company E.I'm very
sorry for the mix up.I'm sure that could be important on finding any details about him.
I have since ran onto a copy of that Pension record I viewed
I believe it was taken from Ancestry.com because on the back
of it I had copied some Cival War Service Records for soldi-
eirs with the name James Drenning.This is how it read:
Surname:Drenning Given Name:James Middle Initial:___Company:
E Unit:31 Mo.Inf. Rank At Induction:Sergeant Rank At Disch-
arge:Sergeant Notes:Drining,James Allegiance:Union
And it's written on his tombstone:
James Drenning
