i camped at the sinking creek this weekend. it ends just north of the current river bridge on 19 hwy, in shannon county. it starts somewhere east & north of there. find salem, mo, in dent county and follow 19 south to where it crosses the current river. just north of that bridge crossing, you should see a river (creek) going off to the north east. that is sinking creek. you can go north of bridge on 19 hwy to county highway A, go east, and you will cross sinking creek 4 or 5 times. there are numourous cemeteries on this highway, and surely some people who know the history of the area. i hope this info is helpful. good luck.
