Ms. Price, I went through Ancestry.com and found one Geo. T. Hoffman in the 86th Indiana Inf. Company I. There were 255 Geo. Hoffmans listed, one was in Company C 1st MO. Cavalry. Another was in Co.E 5th Mo.State Militia Cavalry. Try starting out with the Franklin Co. Mo. in the civil war site and studying the different battles. Several of the 1864 battlefeilds are state Historical sites and you can contact the state for info to find out which units fought there.
I also found 30 Lewis Hoffmans, but no Curtis's.
