Have obtained "Roll" from Missouri Archives show Marcus P. Chandler, enrolled and ordered to active duty Decembere 12, 1862, Lawrence Mill and relieved from duty April 10, 1863.
Roll says: "On detached service acting Q. M. for the Battallion."
Also have Mexican/Civil War Pension authorization from War Department at rank of Captain.
Pension application mentions a General Colley B. Holland, his commander.
Am looking for reason "detached", service time between 1stLt and Captain, and any recommendation for "books" about this organization and General Holland!
Marcus was also Mexican War Private, 2nd Arkansas Mounted Infantry (Calvary)commanded by Colonel Archibald Yell who was KIA Battle of Buena Vista.
