I find no connection of Alfred A. Lipscomb with the 1st Missouri Infantry, thus I assume he left the company before it associated with the regiment. J. Kemp Sprague is shown as captain as of June 15, 1861, and the regiment formally entered Confederate service at Memphis one week later.

I do not have Sprague's state of residence in my notes. I will see if I can find that information for you.
