In your 29 May message you wrote that Wilson is buried at JB in grave 39-4319. There is a James Wilson buried there and there are 6 more James Wilsons from the Civil War buried at JB, but none of the dates of death/burial match up to Wilson's date of death (or near it) and none list a rank of Major. The infomation in the newspaper seems incontrovertible that he was taken to Troy Missouri for burial as taking a body to the North Missouri depot would be a circuitous route to get to JB. What evidence is there that he was buried at JB? I would think something is needed to contradict the two articles below.

The Funeral of Major Wilson. -- The body of Major Wilson will be taken to his former residence in Troy, Lincoln county, Missouri, for burial. His remains, with a funeral escort of four companies, will leave the Court House at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, and will be taken to the North Missouri depot.

FROM THE MISSOURI DEMOCRAT, 31 Oct 1864, page 4, column 1.

The Funeral of Major Wilson. -- The body of the lamented Major Wilson, which, since its arrival here, has laid in state in the Rotunda, was escorted to the North Missouri deport, at three o'clock yesterday afternoon, by four companies of the 7th E.M.M. It was accompanied by a large concourse of officers and citizens.
