Mil. Serv. Rec. Lafayette Roberts of Cedar County

Anyone,

I seek the military service record of Tennessee-born Lafayette Roberts of Linn Township, south-central Cedar County. I know of his career in the Missouri State Guard in 1861 thanks to Eakin and Hale's "Branded As Rebels" and Peterson, McGhee, Lindberg, and Daleen's 1995 "Price's Lieutenants." I know that Roberts started as a guerrilla chieftain in his home area about February 1864, but I don't really know what he was about after 1861 and before February 1864. Can anyone shed any light on that?

Further, what happened to Roberts after March 1865? Did he survive the war?

I searched all four of the county histories of Cedar County (1889, 1968, 1971, and 1998) which did not answer these questions. I could find no online service record on this man in the MO Secretary of State's site.

Could someone please help?
