Thanks very much (!!!!!) for kindly posting this info!!!!!
This is most certainly him; his wife Nancy is buried next to him as indicated by the gravestone etching.
As best I can figure out, Wm. A. Jackson (my ggg-uncle) came out to Wayne Co. MO from the Calloway Co. KY (New Concord) area about the same time (~1849) or shortly after his sister Margaret Elizabeth Jackson Byrd and brother-in-law Wm. Carroll Byrd - my gg-gm/gf - arrived in then Wayne Co. MO (later SE corner of Iron Co. MO, near Brunot). They lived across the Tennessee River from Calloway Co. KY, in District No. 8 of Stewart Co. TN (Byrd Creek area).
I wish I could discover additional details re Wm. A. Jackson's service in Clardy's Battalion MO Cavalry -- maybe some old trunk will furnish us all some docs one of these days.......
Do you know if any living descendants of William A. Jackson may have been involved with putting this image of his grave marker online....?????
thanks once again!!!!!!
